The new CF910 enters the market with numerous enhanced features but the key benefit can be summed up in just two words: improved quality. In practical terms this means higher-quality images and text. The higher image quality results from the CF910's finer granularity, itself a result of the 5th generation LIMOS imaging technology. The improved text quality means enhanced reproduction and better copies of copies.
The X2e version of the CF910 comes with a particularly attractive optional feature: an embedded Fiery controller from the world-leader in colour server technology, Electronics of Imaging. The benefits to the user are simple and convincing - the embedded Fiery is a cheaper, faster and mor compact solution. This embedded controller has an R5000 200 MHz CPU, 64 MB memory standard (upgradable to 160 MB), Adobe PostScript 3 page description language, and standard support for Ethernet 10/100-Base-T connections and TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and AppleTalk protocols. The Fiery controller comes with two highly beneficial improved features: NetWise and ColorWise. The new NetWise network architecture enables the controllerto perform in any network environment while ColorWise is a completely new colour management system that produces consistent, accurate colour for all applications, file formats and computer platforms.
As Minolta's top-of-the-range model, the CF910 is naturally an excellent performer in its three basic functions of copying, printing and scanning. The CF910 is a mid-range full-colour contone copier with a capacity of 10,000 full colour copies per month to A3 full bleed. It copies at 400 dpi and 6 cpm in full colour or 23 cpm in b/w and also comes with a range of optional accessoires to enhance productivity and throughput, e.g. sorter, stable-sorter and duplex unit. The CF910 also offers a choice of two editing models, a marker editor and colour display editor, to add to the user's creative options. Besides its outstanding qualities as a copier, the CF910 is also a high-speed, full-colour A3 full bleed, PostScript 3 contone printer with a 6 ppm colour or 23 ppm b/w output. Last but not least, the CF910 functions as a full-colour, low-end scanner.
All in all, the CF910 brings the user numerous additional benefits:
- Excellent continous tone image quality
- Ease of use
- Productivity
- A3 full bleed
- Range of editing options for greater creativity
- Optional state-of-the-art embedded controller
So the development of the CF910 full-colour copier-printer gave Minolta every reason to change a winning team. Because its launch has most certainly added to the fire power of Minolta's entire colour line-up.
